Dr. Sketchy’s is hosting an special session in December! The session will take place at The Art Department downtown and will feature the beautiful Pearl Lux, member of burlesque troop The Jigglewatts. Extravagant wigs & makeup styled by Coco Coquette (http://coco-coquette.com/), beauty consultant extraordinaire.

Dr. Sketchy’s is a life drawing class turned cabaret extravaganza. Artists draw glamorous underground performers, compete in contests, and win booze and prizes. From its humble Brooklyn beginnings, it’s spread to over 100 cities on five continents- including London, Rome, Tokyo, Paris, Sao Paulo and Melbourne.

Comic Book & Cartoon


Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School takes place on Sunday, November 14th, 5-8pm at The Art Department, 5th and Neches downtown. Our theme is a comic book/cartoon session, and our model, Taffeta Darling, will be modeling an array of costumes, which may include Harley Quinn, Bat Girl, and Elmyra Fudd.

Dia de los Muertos


Nathan Black, one of the original founders of ATX Dr. Sketchy’s, will be joining us for a evening of libations, sexy painted ladies, and sexy painting ladies.
We’re getting you into the fall spirit a little early by ushering in Dia De Los Muertos – so watch out for skeleton xylophones, facepaint & flower head dresses!

Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased from the button below or at the door.

Pointes and Paintings: Beautiful Ballerina Pearl Lux poses in her homage to the fine art of Degas

Join us Sunday, May 16th from 5-8pm at the United States Art Authority as we sketch beautiful ballerina, stunning member of The Jigglewatts and winner of the the 2010 Audience Choice Award at the Texas Burlesque Festival, Miss Pearl Lux.

She’ll be doing a variety of poses including several short poses en pointe! When was the last time you had the opportunity to sketch a figure model like that! : )

Oh ladies and gentlemen… I have a treat for you! I have a mental, visual and auditory treat from a sultry, southern siren direct from the heart of Atlanta as our next Dr. Sketchy model.

Meet Miss Mandy Lauderdale! Her sound has been described as jazz, blues, and lounge. Lauderdale’s influences include such artists as Peggy Lee and Keely Smith. This seductive, charming and unpredictable redhead currently resides in our little music capital and will be posing and crooning for you Sunday, April 18th from 5-8pm at the United States Art Authority.

She will be posing from 5-8pm and ending the night with some very special songs. Additionally, there will be contests and giveaways and some of the craziest and most hilarious on-stage shenanigans we’ve ever done at Dr. Sketchy. Attendees can bring food and drinks back from the full bar at Spiderhouse next door and enjoy those during the show. :D

RESERVATIONS: Chairs are $10 and Tables are $15. Please reserve your spot today as this one will be packed. Email me at MissD@austinsketchy.com to hold your space. Include your first and last name and request for a table or chair. You MUST email me with those details and you will receive a confirmation number. You MUST have this number to hold your spot. We may sell a limited amount of tickets at the door for $15 each but only if space is available.

Also, no need to be a professional artist for this event. Bring your crayons and a napkin or simply stand in the back and quietly observe the spectacle. There will be a limited number of standing room only spots for those who RSVP for them before Saturday, April 17th. These spots are $10 each and must be confirmed ahead of time as the event will sell out.

All the way from New Zealand, the land that bought us LOTR and Flight of the Conchords, Dr. Sketchy Austin brings international burlesque starlet Eva Strangelove Eva Strangelove’s MySpace. She’s been a regular performer and model for Dr Sketchy’s Wellington and Auckland New Zealand. Join us as she gets down to her knickers in her U.S. Sketchy premiere!

Eva has just performed successful shows at the Dallas Burlesque Festival earlier this month and will be in the Burlesque for Peace show on Valentines night. And now, you can catch a performance and sketch opportunity at the next Dr. Sketchy Austin.

The session is Sunday, February 21st from 5-8pm at the United States Art Authority Building. Please arrive a few minutes before 5pm and bring your own art supplies. Tables are $15 and Chairs are $10.

Dr. Sketchy Special Fundraiser for Animals

Join us for a special fundraiser edition of Dr. Sketchy on Thursday, October 1st from 7-9:30pm at the United States Art Authority. All proceeds from this show go to help Austin Pets Alive http://www.austinpetsalive.org/.  All models from this session are appearing in Animalesque, an animal themed burlesque show, on October 16th that also benefits Austin Pets Alive. Reservations are $5 per chair and $10 per table. If you would like to hold a spot, please send an email to me at MissD@austinsketchy.com with your full name and preference for a table or chair.
